Product Review O & Sga.

by Me

HO has now got ProtoSound plus!

Never did I think a logic Board could carry so much info on a board this small nor could a speaker this size carry good sound or for that matter a smoke unit be crammed into an HO locomotive. You are looking at it folks! All diecast. Sound and Smoke syncronized just like our O gauge MTH! Check the stars on the drivers.

Electric wipers in abundance to assure good reception. Sprung drivers too. Even trucks are die cast. Shown below is the amazing PS-3 electronic package located in tender. The really amazing thing to me is you can run the train in conventional D/C power or ProtoSound 3 or DCC. Note the speaker enclosure below that fits over the two speakers with magnets almost as big as the speakers themselves to push the sound! Wow!

The Best Dang S gauge Steam Locomotive Yet!

What a big brute! Posed here in front of a brass O ga. Northern to show how much detail this American Models Santa Fe Northern has. All diecast but oosing with detail. All the trucks are diecast as well for good tracking. Note the spoked pilot and brass bell as well as dual compressors on deck shown below.

Note the complete railing and ladders. I knocked off the tool box that's what is beside track. I'm klutcey O.K.? Check that spot on valve gear below. Shown below in the electronic reverse unit.

Everything a Flyer guy could ever want in Smoke and Choo-Choo like old times but powered by a powerful can motor swingning a big flywheel to suit every S scale affectionado too. All this for under $500. big ones.

Scale 4 wheel trucks under the long distance tender.Even the tender floor is diecast.

MTH/ RailKing track is the best 'Carpet layout' track in O ga.

Without question the best and well designed carpet layout track comes from MTH. You get more bang for your buck 1. Cost the same as FasTrak, 2. Solid Nicklesilver rails 3. Quieter running.

That being said if you have some early version RiteTrak the center rail was steel not Nicklesilver and often the spot weld of the center rail to the brass contact didn't hold causing an electrical open. If only one end is bad here is a solution should you still have some. This won't work if both ends are bad welds however.
